The Jubilee Year of Mercy

Many blessings come upon St. Anthony Church, but few are as awesome as being named a Church of Pilgrimage during this Year of Mercy! In the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and throughout the world, different parishes are designated as pilgrimage churches during this Holy year that begins on December 8, 2015 and concludes on November 20, 2016.

PopeSaint Anthony Parish celebrated the Opening of the Doors of Mercy with the school and community on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The entire community was able to be part of this prayerful moment on Sunday, December 13, 2015 with a bilingual ceremony at 7:15am.

Our parish will have many events during the year to mark this special time in the history of the Catholic Church, and to be active participants in the call of being true messengers of God’s mercy to all! Stay connected!

The first major step was to create a space that was conducive to prayer and meditation. Our Pastor, Father Jose, created a very welcoming atmosphere at the entrance of our beautiful church. All it took was creativity, elbow grease, a splash of paint and re-arranging some pots and benches we already owned!! It is a beautiful space that calls  you in and reminds you of God’s love and mercy.

Come and enjoy the beauty and tranquility found here!
